The mine of Mount Calamita (magnet) (413 m) of the Elba island can be
reached hiking or by bike from a beautiful off road from Capoliveri and
of course by sea if by boat. Used since ancient times have they been abandoned around the eightis of the last century. The machinery, the ancient buildings, are located in Punta Calamita. The mountain is crossed by tunnels visited with guides that you can also ask for in the nearby museum. In most dungeons are still visible carriages, rails, and abandoned tools fro a long time which is only misuarabile by the levels of rust and with a wild outside with a rugged scenery of incomparable beauty... |
